Sr. Vice President, Drilling

Mr. Bent joined Continental Resources in 2012 as Vice President of Drilling.

In 2013 he assumed responsibility for Continental’s Northern Region Drilling and Completions and in 2016 was appointed Senior Vice President of Drilling Operations, both North and South, as well as Supply Chain Management, Project Development and Right of Way.

Mr. Bent came to Continental with more than 37 years of industry experience in petroleum engineering and operations. He earned his BS in Petroleum from the University of Wyoming in 1980. From 1980 to 2012, Mr. Bent served in various leadership capacities with Conoco Phillips, Inc. and its predecessor companies, Burlington Resources, Meridian Oil and El Paso Exploration.  From 2006 through 2012 he served as Manager of Implementation for the San Juan Basin Unit in Farmington, New Mexico, one of Conoco Phillips largest units. Prior to these responsibilities, Mr. Bent served as Burlington Resources general manager of drilling and completions for that division.

Mr. Bent currently serves with the Amigos as a Goodwill Ambassador for the state of New Mexico and holds memberships with various professional industry groups both locally and nationally.
