James L. Gallogly previously served as the chairman of the management board (2010-2015) and chief executive officer (2009-2015) of LyondellBasell Industries N.V.

Before joining LyondellBasell, Mr. Gallogly was executive vice president of Worldwide Exploration and Production of ConocoPhillips from 2008 to 2009. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president of Refining, Marketing & Transportation at ConocoPhillips from 2006 to 2008. Mr. Gallogly was the first chief executive officer of ChevronPhillips Chemical Company serving from the time of the company’s formation in 2000 until 2006. Prior to that Mr. Gallogly served in a number of roles at Phillips Petroleum Company including Senior Vice President of Chemicals, Vice President of Olefins and Polyolefins, Vice President of Plastics, and Vice President of North America Production. Mr. Gallogly served as a director of DuPont from February 2015 to August 2017. He is a member of the University of Oklahoma Gallogly College of Engineering Board of Visitors, the University of Colorado Engineering Advisory Council, and the University Cancer Foundation Board of Visitors at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Mr. Gallogly also serves on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas. He is a member of the Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas bar associations. Gallogly received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado in 1974 and a law degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1977. He completed the Advanced Executive Program at the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in 1998.
